Meet Leigh...and Leigh (two very strangelittlegirls)

I don' t know what I want. Well I do know I want the best of both worlds. I want the Rialto world sometimes then other times I don't. I want a new job world sometimes then other times I don't. I'm of two minds. I usually am of two minds about everything! I appreciate the fact that my bosses love me (well I believe they do anyways) and wouldn't want me to leave and want me to stick around on the slim chance I could go further when the new cinema opens up...however I think I'm way too bored. I don't seem to be able to use my mind enough here. It's like "I've conquered all there is to learn...now what?" "I've finished everything I was supposed to do today in the first half an hour...now what?" "I can't stand working with some of the staff due to 'weirdo' and 'laziness' issues...now what?"...I don't have a great say in pretty much anything that goes on at Rialts but if I did...would I be satisfied? I want to leave because I know I can do more, and be utilised more, and appreciated more...but I don't want to leave because I love the people, I know what I'm doing, I'm one of the bosses and there's the chance in like 6 months of being promoted...

Any help is much appreciated! Comments welcome.

I can help by saying "please don't leave because I like having you at work". That's not enough to keep you there, I know, but it's true!

Ha! I have never known what I want. I get intensely jealous of people who know from a young age what vocation they are going to dedicate their life to and follow that dream passionately.

I know exactly what you mean about the frustrations of the job. That's how I felt after being a duty manager for a while. Thought my brain was going to turn to goo and drip out my ears. So I went away to do a vet nursing certificate! (But I cheated because I learnt projection as well and didn't really 'leave'.) And then I came back ... and then I went away ... and you know the rest ...

I get a lot more satisfaction out of being a projectionist than a manager. And any intellectual stimulation that I feel I'm lacking at work (not that I don't use my brain at work!) I find elsewhere in my own time.

I think you could have the best of both worlds if you wanted to.
Maybe we girls need to get together over a coffee and have a natter ...

I'll have to take a raincheck there girls, but I can sypathise with your situation missy.

I think that is why I keep doing new things all the time, cos I do get real bored otherwise, but I miss Rialto because of you peeps...and the movies.

You know what we should really do - all put in ten bucks or so each, open our own movie theatre, so we can hang out, talk shit, drink GOOD coffee, and actually have a say with what goes on at the cinema! AND we can choose who to employ and sack the boring ones at will...

You guys are great!

I'll keep you on!

And yes, a natter is probably needed.

And oh yes we need to sack the smelly ones!
