The Veruca Salt inside of me

Sometimes it feels that life is just passing me by. Everyone around me are either getting married, having babies, buying houses or travelling. I want to do all of those things. Possibly not in that particular order, and marriage and babies not any time soon I am in no rush. But it makes me think - will it ever happen? Does everything have to be so unromantic that nothing happens by chance - that you have to work your arse off for everything you want? Will no one come along and say "hey, here's a deposit for a house for you now you do the rest?" Now that would probably never happen, but man wouldn't it be nice to be able to do something without so much thought involved? Why must it take years to accomplish something? I'm far too impatient. I want things now. It's the Veruca Salt in me. No not the band - the Charlie and the Chocolate factory character. "I want it now".

Sometimes I feel that I really need to get off my arse and really experience life. But life makes life hard. If I want to go overseas (which I do) I have to save and save and scimp on living in the NOW cos I want to have a great time later...what if later never comes?

Anyone gots a spare 10 grand? or a mil? That would be helpful...

Now on a completely different topic - we went and saw my man's daughter at her dance recital on Sunday arvo. She was so cute and did so well for a 6 year old! But man, now there's a story about why girls are so competitive and forever unhappy with themselves...

Yes, I feel exactly the same way. And I have a couple (five?) of years on you, which makes it worse. Although I think a smaller student loan, so we're probably even... Anyway, my point is, we are all doomed to disappointment. I'm sure it was easier for our parents and previous generations to get houses, etc. Wah, wah.
